Born May 26 18951,4,5,7 [May 26 18963,6,8], Bennington, Bryan County, Oklahoma1,4,5,7.  

Born Jesse Glasgo, he was adopted by Charles Alonzo Henshaw and took the Henshaw name.2  

Jesse was a World War I veteran.1,3,8  Jesse Henshaw, age 22, registered for the World War I draft in Okfuskee County, Oklahoma.  He declared he was born May 26th, 1895 in Bennington, Oklahoma, and he was then a resident of Okemah, Oklahoma where he was single and a farm laborer employed by a Jim Turley.  He was recorded as medium height, blue eyes, light hair.4  

Jesse was shown in the 1920 census (Jan 27 1920), Hickory Ridge Township, Okfuskee County, Oklahoma:7

Henshaw, Jessie, loger [sic], age 24, born in Oklahoma; father born in Indiana; mother born in Texas; single; laborer.

He married Edith LaNora Bauggus, about 1921.1,2  Edith was born about 18981 [Sep 23 18653], Missouri1.  - most probably a transcription error).  Edith had apparently been previously married to a - Bauggus, as she had a son Frank Bauggus.1  

Jesse and family were shown in the 1930 census (Apr 30 1930), Hickory Ridge Township, Okfuskee County, Oklahoma:1

Henshaw, Jessee, head-of-household, age 34, born in Oklahoma; father born in Indiana; mother born in Texas; first married at age 25; rented home; no radio in home; occupation: farmer, general farming; World War I veteran.
Henshaw, Edith L., wife, age 32, born in Missouri; father born in Texas; mother born in Missouri; first married at age 23.
Henshaw, Clarence, son, age 8, born in Oklahoma; father born in Missouri [sic]; mother born in Oklahoma [sic]; attended school.
Henshaw, Virgil, son, age 5, born in Oklahoma; father born in Missouri [sic]; mother born in Oklahoma [sic].
Henshaw, Leon, son, age 3, born in Oklahoma; father born in Missouri [sic]; mother born in Oklahoma [sic].
Henshaw, Margaret L., daughter, age 8 months, born in Oklahoma; father born in Missouri [sic]; mother born in Oklahoma [sic].
Bauggus, Frank, step-son, age 12, born in Arkansas; father born in Missouri; mother born in Oklahoma [sic]; attended school.

Jesse Henshaw died Dec 16 1935, buried Rock Creek Cemetery, Okfuskee County, Oklahoma.3,8  

Edith died Oct 12 1946, buried Rock Creek Cemetery, Okfuskee County, Oklahoma.3,8
