Twila was raised by her parents, Eldon and Verna Hinshaw, in White Salmon, Goldendale and later in Everett, WA, attending public schools there and graduating from Everett High School in 1943.  After high school Twila attended Washington State College where she met Robert Blain on a blind date.  They married in 1945 and moved to Whidbey Island on Halloween of 1952 with their two children, Jay and Perry.  One year later their third child, Pam, was born.

Twila and Bob opened Pay Less Food Store in Oak Harbor, WA in the 50's.

Twila loved golfing, bowling, boating and was an avid seamstress.

Twila was preceded in death by her husband, Bob; and son, Jay.

She is survived by her daughters, Perry Settles of Graham, Washington and Pamela Spears of Olympia, Washington.  She also was a grandmother of 11 and a great-grandmother of nine.

At Twila's request no formal services will be held at this time, however a graveside gathering will be held at 12 noon on November 9, 2011 at Sunnyside Cemetery in Coupeville, WA, where she will be laid to rest beside her husband and her son.
