Merrill, Cecil Kenneth
Cecil Kenneth, passed away September 16, 2002 at the age of 84. Cecil was born September 7, 1917 in Joplin, MO, to Luther and Elsie Merrill. He later moved to Blackwell, OK where he finished school and met and married Letha Hinshaw on April 20, 1941, whom he was married to for 61 loving years. During WWII Cecil proudly served his country in the Air Force and was stationed in England. He was very active in the South Lee United Methodist Church and served as the church treasurer, president of the men's club, was a member of the trustees and official board, and belonged to Wes Lee's Sunday school class. Cecil also acted as a Boy Scout Master. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 4 sisters. His survivors include wife Letha of the home; son Ronald and wife Emelia of San Diego, daughter Glenna and husband Charles Blair of Newkirk, OK, and son Douglas and wife Paula of Bridge Creek, OK; grandchildren: Ben Merrill, Raquel Dixon of San Diego, Cody Blair of Newkirk, and Jacob & Matthew Merrill of Bridge Creek; 3 great grandchildren; one brother John of Buena Park, CA; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Services to celebrate his life will be held 1:00 PM Thursday at the South Lee United Methodist Church, 601 SW 36th. VONDEL L. SMITH & SON MORTUARY 6934 S. Western 634-1439
