On Sep 12 1918 George Bruce Hinshaw, age 45, registered for the World War I draft in Woodward County, Oklahoma.  He declared he was born Aug 8 1873 and was then residing in Sharon, Woodward County, Oklahoma where he was a self-employed farmer.  He declared his nearest relative was Mrs. Gertie Faith Hinshaw of Sharon.  He was recorded as slender, medium height, brown eyes, light brown hair.  On the same day sons Ernest and Jesse also registered for the draft.5

Gertrude died Aug 22 1950, Sharon, Woodward County, Oklahoma; buried North Persimmon Cemetery, Woodward County, Oklahoma.1,3
