He married Alice C. Leakey, May 20 1939.2  Alice, daughter of Jesse C. Leakey & Mary Estel Thomas, was born Jul 13 1907, Indiana.2,11,12  

Herman and family were shown in the 1940 census (Apr 19 1940), Washington Township, Hamilton County, Indiana:5

Henshaw, Herman, head-of-household, age 22, born in Indiana; completed 4 years of high school; on Apr 1 1935 was living in rural Hamilton County, Indiana; owned farm ($2000 value); occupation: farmer, farm.
Henshaw, Alice, wife, age 32, born in Indiana; completed 5 years of college; on Apr 1 1935 was living in Newcastle, Henry County, Indiana.
Henshaw, Janet, daughter, age 2 months, born in Indiana.

Alice died Mar 13 1959.2  

He then married Juanita Burnett, Jan 7 1962, Marion County, Indiana.14  Juanita, daughter of Stanley Hazel Burnett & Margaret Ruth Compton2,15,16,17,18, was born Feb 7 19272,15,16,17,18, Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana2,15,16,17,18 [Southport, Marion County, Indiana19,20].  

In 1995 Herman was living in/near Danville, Hendricks County, Indiana.7  

Herman K. Hinshaw died Nov 30 1995, Hendricks Community Hospital, Danville, Hendricks County, Indiana; age 78.1,6,7,10  

Herman's obituary was published in the "Hendricks County Flyer" (Avon, Indiana) on December 4, 19956 (see scan below).  

Juanita died Jan 3 2014, Hendricks Regional Hospital, Danville, Hendricks County, Indiana; age 86.2,19,20,21,22

Juanita Hinshaw of Danville died Jan. 3 in Hendricks Regional Hospital.  She was 86.  

Born Feb. 7, 1927, in Southport, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Ruth Compton.  She was one of nine children born to Mr. and Mrs. Compton.  She married Herman K. Hinshaw and he preceded her in death.  

Mrs. Hinshaw worked as a sales agent for TWA Airlines and was a member of Bartlett Chapel UMC.  

Survives include her children and their spouses, Ben and Jennifer Hinshaw of Plainfield, Rebecca and John Todd of Clayton; step-children Herman K. and Carol Hinshaw of Avon, Janet and Ernest Miller of Dallas, Oregon; grandchildren, Lindsay McKamey, Natalie McKamey, Tory Todd, Megan Todd, Jessica Todd, Michelle Anthony, and Jennifer Miller; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by eight brother and sisters.  

Services will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 10 at Bartlett Chapel UMC, 4396 E. Main St., in Avon.
