Hinshaw, John
(deceased 1868)

John Hinshaw followed William McCoin's brief, but mysterious one-year stay in the Davidson Circuit.  He was elected Elder in 1847, at which time he was assigned as superintendent to the Guilford Circuit.  In 1848, Rev. Hinshaw went to the Randolph Circuit, where he served for a year before returning to the Guilford Circuit in 1849.  Rev. Hinshaw then served the Davidson Circuit from 1850-1851 and the Randolph Circuit from 1852-1853.

In 1854, Rev. Hinshaw returned to the Davidson Circuit for one more year, where he worked with future Davidson Circuit superintendent, Jacob Guyer.  Rev. Hinshaw then remained inactive with the exception of a brief tenure on the Yadkin Circuit in 1859.  Conference records indicate that Rev. Hinshaw left the ministry for unknown personal reasons.
