On Sep 11 1918 James Henry Pace, age 38, registered for the World War I draft in Holdrege, Phelps County, Nebraska. He declared he was born July 8th 1880, and was then residing in Loomis, Phelps County, Nebraska where he was a fireman employed by the U.P. Railroad Co. of North Platte, Nebraska. He declared his nearest relative was Etha L. Pace of Loomis. He was recorded as tall, medium build, brown eyes, black hair.⁵
