Mildred Snell
Mildred Snell, 94, of Punta Gorda, Fla., passed away Oct. 19, 2006, at Life Care Center.
She was born Nov. 24, 1911, in Indiana, to Samuel and Edna (Reece) Hinshaw.
Mildred retired from bookkeeping and moved to Fort Myers, Fla. She and her husband, Walter, both dedicated much of their retirement to Olga-Fort Myers United Methodist Church, where she was treasurer for many years. Later the couple moved to Punta Gorda to be closer to their daughter, Beth.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Beth (Bob) Headrick of Punta Gorda, and Marjorie (Charlie) Toohy of Midland, Mich.; daughter-in-law, Cathy Cunningham; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Walter in October 2003; and a son, Jerry Snell, who died while in the U.S. Air Force.
There will be a celebration of Mildred's life at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2006, at Larry Taylor Funeral and Cremation Services, Punta Gorda Chapel. To express condolences to the family please visit www.Ltaylorfuneral.com and sign the online guest book.
