Katharine Ezella Henshaw-Daniels

TAHLEQUAH -- Katharine Ezella Henshaw-Daniels was born December 29, 1917 in Nowata to Menzo and Clara (Futhey) Clark and departed this life to be with her Lord on June 12, 2009 in Bartlesville at the home of her son, George Henshaw.  She was 91 years old.  Katharine was an ordained minister and spent her years in dedicated and faithful service to the Lord.  She was a professional recording artist with several albums of gospel music.  Katharine was also a sought after piano teacher and seamstress and an adored quilter.  She leaves behind a body of work and ministry that has touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.  Katharine was preceded by her parents; her husband George Allen Henshaw; her second husband Earl Daniels; and her daughters Edna Gale Mathis and Katherine Elaine Brewster.  She is survived by many relatives and friends including: her three sons, George A. Henshaw and wife, Judy, of Bartlesville; Dale E. Henshaw and wife, Peggy, of Ponca City; and Stephen A. Henshaw of Tahlequah; one sister Viola Marshall of Jacksonville, N.C., 17 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.  Services were held Tuesday June 16, 2009 at the Reed-Culver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Dale Henshaw and Rev. Margaret Hatchett officiating.  Interment followed in the Shamrock City Cemetery in Shamrock under the direction of the Reed-Culver Funeral Home in Tahlequah.  The family requests that anyone wishing to honor Katharine can do so by making a donation in her name to Cornerstone Hospice, 3414 S.E. Kentucky, and Bartlesville, Okla.  74006.Reed-Culver Funeral Home, 117 W. Delaware, 456-2551.
