Zehr Hinshaw graduated in the class of 1908 from Richland High School, Richland, Iowa.14
He married Alda Faith Chandler, Jun 4 1913, Packwood, Jefferson County, Iowa.4,15 Alda, daughter of Charles D. Chandler & Ellen/Ella M. Anderson, was born about 1894, Packwood, Iowa.10,11,15,16
On Dec 30 1914 Zear F. [sic] Hinshaw was appointed Postmaster of Packwood, Jefferson County, Iowa.17 He seems to have stayed in that position until the next Postmaster was appointed on Apr 19 1919.17
On Jun 5 1917 Jesse Zear Hinshaw, age 27, registered for the World War I draft in Jefferson County, Iowa. He declared he was born April 24 1890 in Richland, Iowa, and was then residing in Packwood, Iowa, occupied as a garageman, married with a dependent wife. He was recorded as tall, slim, blue eyes, light hair.12
