Ralph Hanshaw, 83, of Olive Hill, Ky., passed away Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Ky.
Mr. Hanshaw was born Jan. 21, 1923, in Carter County, Ky., a son of the late Harrison and Leoda Seagraves Hanshaw. He was a retired bricklayer with General Refractories and a farmer. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving overseas during World War II. He was of the Christian faith.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Fife Hanshaw; two sons, Charles (Freda) Hanshaw and Phillip (Patty) Hanshaw; three daughters, Patsy Hanshaw, Jan (Kenneth) Day and Linda (Ronnie) Bond, all of Olive Hill; one brother, Andy Hanshaw of Mansfield, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2006, at Oney-Henderson Funeral Home, officiated by Brother Clayton Hanshaw. Burial will follow in Hanshaw Family Cemetery.
Friends may call after 6 tonight, anytime Monday and until the service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
