Letha's obituary was published in the "Times-Call" (Longmont, Colorado) on March 13, 2009:2

Letha Mae TRIBBLE died on March 10, 2009, after a stoic battle with brain cancer.  She went peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, at the home she helped build and had lived in for over 60 years.  She was 89 years old.

Letha was born in Siebert [sic], Colorado, in 1919 to Frank Thomas Hinshaw and Florence Mable Thornberry Hinshaw Smith.  Her early years were spent as a "soddy," the name given to those who lived in a sod house.  As a child, she lived many years in both Colorado and Oregon, returning to Nederland, Colorado, to graduate as valedictorian of her high school class in 1936.

Letha met her future husband, Charles J. Tribble, at the Boulderado Hotel in Boulder, where she worked and he came in for lunch.  They were married in 1948.  They settled on property north of Boulder, where they built a house, raised a family, and started and ran the business of Tribble Stone.  Letha was the co-owner and bookkeeper of that business, and could work a forklift as well as a calculator!

After retiring, Letha continued to live at the stone yard, spending her time reading, cross-stitching and playing cribbage.

Letha was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck.  She is survived by her daughter Nikki Rae Sun of Williston, Florida; her son Eric Tribble, his wife Jayne and their daughter Annie, of Longmont; and her daughter Mandi Tribble and husband Steven Engel of Longmont.  She also leaves behind many loving relatives and friends.

Letha was dearly loved in life, and will be sorely missed in death.  At her request, there will be a cremation; no service.  In lieu of flowers, please make any contributions to HospiceCare of Boulder and Broomfield Counties or Heifer International, in her name.
