Born Sep 12 1785, Randolph County, North Carolina.1,3  

She married Gideon Thomas Macon1,2,4,5,6 [Gideon Macon3], Dec 24 18121,2,4,5,6, Randolph County, North Carolina1,2,4,5,6.  Gideon Thomas Macon was born 1759.3  

A marriage bond was recorded for Rebeckah Hinshaw & Gedion Rich [sic] on Dec 24 1812, Randolph County, North Carolina.2  

Gideon had been previously married and had eight children from his first marriage.7  

Children:8,9

Jesse (or Jacob) Macon.
Caroline Macon, born probably 1812-1830; married James Bird.
Ruth Macon; married 1839 Joshua Cox.
John Macon, born Sep 3 1817.
Reuben Macon; married Elizabeth Robbins.
Hartwell Macon, born Mar 3 1820; died 1897; married Maria Robbins (1834-1872).

Gideon Thomas Macon died 1829, Randolph County, North Carolina.10  

Rebecca Hinshaw died 8-15-1860, Holly Spring, North Carolina.5  

Rebecca's will is recorded in Randolph County, North Carolina, Will Book 11, page 514 (1860), as follows:

I Rebecca Macon being weak in body, but of sound mind and memory do make and bequeath this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following

I will and bequeath to my daughter Ruth the Sum of Seventy five dollars and I also give to her jointly with my daughter Caroline all my bedclothing Share and Share alike except those hereinafter named, which I give to my sons.  

I give and bequeath to my four Sons, John Reuben Hartwell and Jesse the Sum of Seventy five dollars each, except my eldest Son John to whom I give the Sum of eighty dollars.  I also give to my four Sons, a bedquilt, blanket and Counterpane each.  

I give and bequeath to Thomas Macon, William Macon, Martha Larrence, Sarah Craven & Hannah Caveness the sum of fifty cents each.  

I will and bequeath to my three grandsons, William Bird, Hartwell Bird, and Eli Bird on hundred acres of land lying on the Plank Road adjoining William Tuckers and others, jointly Share and Share alike.  

I give and bequeath to my daughter Caroline Bird in addition to the aforementioned bed clothes all my house hold and kitchen ware.  I also give and bequeath to my grandaughter Rebecca Bird ten dollars in lieu thereof.  

I do further Will that if the Sums of money herein named cannot be Collected, that my executor hereinafter named do Collect what he can and divide the Same, proportion hereinafter named.  

I do hereby nominate my Son in law James Bird to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning of the Same.  This the eighth day of the Sixth month One thousand eight hundred and Sixty.
