Margaret Hinshaw died Feb 27 1994, York Hospital, York, Pennsylvania.1  

The following obituary appeared in the York [Pennsylvania] "Daily Record", Monday, February 28, 1994:1

SHREWSBURY
Margaret (Hinshaw) Bates, 72, of Shrewsbury, died at 11 a.m. Saturday at York Hospital, following a lengthy illness.  She was the wife of the late James P. Bates Jr.  The service and burial will be at the convenience of the family.  The Geiple Funeral Home Inc., 53 Main St., Glen Rock, is in charge of arrangements.  Mrs. Bates was born on July 25, 1921, at Randaleman, N.C.  She was the daughter of the late Ben and Ada (Brookshire) Hinshaw.  She had lived in the Shrewsbury area for the past 17 years, and previously was of Randalstown, Md.  Mrs. Bates is survived by a son, James M. Bates of Shrewsbury.  Memorial contributions may be made to York Hospital Surgical Intensive Care Unit, 1001 S. George St., York 17405.
