Born about 1873.1 Mary E. Hinshaw died Sep 23 1876, buried Mount Zion Church Cemetery, Winchester, Indiana.1
Mary's gravestone shows: "Sep 23, 1876" and "? Y 2 m 15 d", where ? is unreadable. "Dau of E. & M.E. Hinshaw".1 So Mary could be the daughter of Elza Hinshaw and Mary Ellen Robbins, as tentatively shown here, but she could also be the daughter of Elkanah Hinshaw and Mary Ellen Norton. Both Elza and Elkannah married a Mary Ellen, thus both would be "E. & M.E.". Both would also be likely to name a daughter Mary E[llen]. In addition, Elkanah had a sister - Elza's aunt - named Mary E. Both Elza and Elkanah were actively having children in the early 1870s, both with child gaps where this Mary could fit in. And both Elza and Elkanah are buried in this same cemetery. So Mary's parentage is unclear.
