He married Stella Stevens, Jan 30 1895, Rathbone, Steuben County, New York.^1,7  Stella was born Aug - 1864, New York.^2,3,5,6  (c1866).⁴

Ira's family began using the 'Hanshaw' spelling, which his descendents still use.¹  According to a family story, Stella did not approve of some Henshaw teasing her children were receiving at school, so she changed their names to Hanshaw.¹  

Ira F. Henshaw died Mar 28 1938, Rathbone, Steuben County, New York; buried Rathbone Cemetery, Rathbone, Steuben County, New York.^1,7,14  

Ira's death was reported in "The Evening Leader" (Corning, New York) on Saturday, April 2, 1938¹⁴ (see scan below).
