Born about 1823, Virginia.1  

He married Sarah Henshaw, Sep 23 1845, Madison County, Virginia.1,4  Sarah was born about 1828, Virginia.1  Sarah was the daughter of an unidentified James Henshaw.4  

Robert inherited half of the estate of his uncle, John Henshaw5 (apparently when John's widow died).5
