He married Margaret (Touchstone) McConnell, Nov 23 1818, Berkeley County, Virginia.^c,d    (Margaret Touchstone)^e    (Peggy Touchstone)^e    Margaret, daughter of William + Christina Touchstone, was born about 1788, Frederick County, Virginia.^e,f    (c1790).^b

Margaret had been previously married to an Abraham McConnell,^e Jun 15 1809, Frederick County, Virginia^c (Margaret was named in her father's will of 1811 as Margaret McConnell, wife of Abraham McConnell).^e

James and family were shown in the 1850 census (Sep 21 1850), Berkeley County, Virginia:^a

Margaret, apparently widowed, and son James were shown in the 1870 census (Aug 30 1870), Berkeley County, Virginia:^f

Margaret died May 5 1872, Berkeley County, West Virginia; age 84.^k
