Juan's obituary was published as follows:7
Funeral services for Juan P. Bustamante, 62, of Las Cruces, who died at Memorial General Hospital will be held at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church with Ed Dougil and the Rev. Jaime Israel officating. Burial followed in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
He died one day before his son Ruben Bustamante. Their funeral services were held together.
Survivors included sons: Raymond Bustamante, Romero Bustamante, and Chuey Bustamante, all of Las Cruces; daughters: Juana Rodriguez of Las Cruces, Mary Hernandez of Mesilla Park, Concha Bustamante of Phoenix AZ; Lola Chavez of Mesilla, Lela Sambrano of El Paso, and Liza Bustamante of Santa Ana, CA.
He was also survived by brothers, Prajedes P. Bustamante of Burrell, CA, Porfirio Bustamante of Culver City, CA; Raul Bustamante of Tulare, CA; Ricardo Bustamante of Riverdale, CA, and Benny Bustamante of Gardena, CA; sisters, Erminia Velasquez, Berta Bustamante and Manuela Albedrez, all of Culver City, CA.
Pallbearers were Benny Bustamante, Bobby Bustamante, Mondo Chavarria, Porfilio Bustamante [sic], Ricardo Bustamante and Raul Bustamante.
