This hike is famous for having two newbies, Cristina and Alan (nee Dick), individually bail out after less than half a mile of hiking, earning them Black Leaves of Shame. The other 66% of the hikers made it to the top.

The good news is that both Cristina and Alan would come back many months later (12 months in Cristina's case) to hike again. Each eventually conquered the mighty Mission Peak, too!
