Born about 1847, Virginia.1,2
On Feb 16 1864 Wharton Henshaw of Franklin, Indiana enlisted as a private in Company D, 17th Indiana Infantry. He was discharged for minority on May 15 1865. "Distinguished Service".3
Wharten seems to have died before 1900, as his mother was shown in the 1900 census showing only son Charles still living.4,5
