Widow Mary and family were shown in the 1850 census, Stout's Grove Township, McLean County, Illinois, as follows:3,20
Mary S. Hinshaw, age 25, born in Virginia; $1000 real estate.
The 1850 census also shows a listing for a Mary Haybarger, age 50, with children at home in the age range of 13-233,20 - this was probably Mary's mother and siblings.
Mary remarried on Mar 16 1851 to Benjamin Ayers, McLean County, Illinois.21,22
Mary was once again widowed. Widow Mary Haybarger Hinshaw Ayers was shown in the 1880 census (Jun 4 1880), Danvers Township, McLean County, Illinois:23
Ayers, Mary S., age 55, born in Virginia; both parents born in Virginia; widow; keeping house.
Hinshaw, Mary R., daughter, age 36, born in Illinois; father born in North Carolina; mother born in Virginia; single; works at home.
Miller, John, farm hand, age 16, born in Illinois; attended school.
