She married Simeon Barker, Mar 7 1861, Pine Ridge MH, Holly Spring MM, North Carolina.2,3,5,6  Simeon, son of Nicholas Barker & Catherine Cox, was born Sep 14 1835, North Carolina.2,3,7,8,9  

Simeon was the brother of Mary Barker who married Ruth's brother Thomas, and of Nathan Barker who married Ruth's sister Milicent.  The three Hinshaw siblings married three Barker siblings.  In addition, Ruth's brother Jacob married Elizabeth, then Huldah, Barker (sisters), cousins of Ruth's husband Simeon Barker.3  

At Holly Spring MM on 1-18-1862, Simeon and wife Ruth were granted a certificate to Center MM, Ohio.3

Simeon died Oct 21 1912, buried Providence Friends PM Cemetery, Providence Township, Randolph County, North Carolina.9
