He declared he was born July 15th 1890 in New Windsor, Illinois, and was then residing at 2330 N. Halsted St. in Chicago where he was single, without dependents, and a theological student. He was recorded as tall, medium build, dark gray eyes, dark brown hair. He claimed exemption dued to "Missionary to" [..unclear..] "China".9
