Mildred's obituary was published in "The Courier Tribune" (Asheboro, North Carolina) on Wednesday, February 25, 1998:4
RAMSEUR - Mildred Hinshaw McAlister, 78, of Rose Tara Plantation, King, formerly of Ramseur, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 1998, at Forsyth Memorial Hospital, Winston-Salem.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Loflin Funeral Home, Ramseur, with the Rev. Ricky Sessoms and the Rev. Justus McKeel officiating. Burial will be in Holly Spring Friends Meeting Cemetery.
She was a native of Randolph County, employed for 30 years as a nurse for Dr. Melvin B. Smith and was a member of Holly Spring Friends Meeting.
Surviving are son, Joe McAlister of Winston-Salem; brothers, Walter L. Hinshaw of Burlington, Frank Hinshaw of Carolina Beach, Paul Hinshaw, Myron Hinshaw, both of Asheboro; sisters, Alese Grimes of Ramseur, Eleanor Gunter of Archdale; two stepgrandsons; two stepgreat-grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
Memorials may be made to Holly Spring Friends Meeting, 2938 Holly Spring Road, Ramseur, N.C. 27316.
