On Dec 31 1917 Earl Lavigar Hinshaw enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the Navy Recruiting Station in St. Louis, Missouri, age 21 years 3 months.  His home town was recorded as Cookville, Missouri.  He was discharged Jun 26 1919, rank Fireman Third Class.6  

He married Nina E. Cook.1  Nina, daughter of John Clarence Cook & Nina Ann Breeden, was born Oct 20 1900, Missouri.7  (Nov 20 1900).1,4  (c1902, Missouri).3  

Earl and Nina were shown in the 1920 census (Jan 3 1920), living with Earl's widower father in Roubidoux Township, Pulaski County, Missouri:3

Earl Lavigar Hinshaw died Dec 26 1935, Rolla, Phelps County, Missouri; age 37y 3m 4d.5  Medical: Earl died from a perforated stomach due to a peptic ulcer.4,5
