Graveside funeral services for Kenneth Hinshaw, age 60, of Clearfield, who died Monday, September 29,2003, were held Friday, October 3, 2003, at 10:30 a.m. at the Clearfield Cemetery, with Pastor Tim Maxa officiating.  Memorials can be given in Kenneth's name.  Arrangement were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Home of Lenox.  

Kenneth K. Hinshaw was born November 17, 1942, in Clearfield, Iowa, the son of Loren Franklin Hinshaw and Ethel Mae Lane Hinshaw.  He grew up between Lenox and Clearfield attending Lenox Community School, graduating with the Class of 1961.  On September 11, 1961, he was united in marriage to Helen Dukes at the Lenox Christian Church.  Two children were born to bless this union, Stoney and Karolyn.  

In 1968, Kenneth and Helen moved to Roseville, Illinois where he worked as a tractor mechanic.  In 1977 they returned to Clearfield when he began working for Roe Implement in Mt.Ayr.  He later worked for Larsen Farms, also working in Red Oak until 1996, when his health forced him to retire.  

Kenneth enjoyed country music and had seen many performers over the years.  He loved to be outdoors and in his younger years enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He enjoyed working in his yard and helping people.  Kenneth had a great sense of humor and thoroughly enjoyed playing jokes on people and telling stories.  He was known as a "power shopper" and enjoyed making a day out of a shopping trip.  Kenneth was a patient man, often when they were shopping Helen would have gone through three stores while Kenneth had gone through one!.  Kenneth was a member of he Roseville Christian Church.  

Left to cherish Kenneth's memory are his living wife Helen of Clearfield, his mother, Ethel Hinshaw of Clearfield, a son Stoney Hinshaw of Malcom,IA, a daughter, Karolyn Poquette and husband Ray of Swanton,Vermont, a brother Gary Hinshaw and wife, Cathy, of Mesa, AZ, a sister Fay Jean Hinshaw and Dan Crowell of Clearfield and five grandchildren, along with a host of friends.  

Preceding Kenneth in death was his father Loren and a brother Norman.
