David A. Hinshaw, 76, a retired TxDOT supervisor, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007.  

Funeral: 10 a.m. Tuesday at Beulah Baptist Church.  Burial: Greenwood Community Cemetery.  Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel.  

Survivors: Wife, O. Elfreida; daughter, Frana L. Finley and husband, Curtis; son, David L. Hinshaw; sister, Dorothy Schindler; brother, W.F. Hinshaw and wife, Tillie; and grandchildren, Taylor, Sladen and Hannah.

David Arnold Hinshaw, 76, of Weatherford, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2007, in Weatherford.  

Service was 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 9, at Beulah Baptist Church.  Officiating was Rev. Ronnie White of Cross Plains Baptist Church and Dr. Van Houser of Northside Baptist Church.  Interment followed at Greenwood Community Cemetery.  Visitation was Monday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Home.  

He was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Whitt, Texas, the youngest child of W.D. (Bill) Hinshaw and Annie Barker Hinshaw.  He attended school at Whitt, Salesville and Mineral Wells.  He went into the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, from 1950 to 1954, and served aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Point Cruz.  He went to work for the Texas Department of Transportation in 1955 and retired after more than 32 years of faithful service in 1987.  He then worked for six years, under then Parker County Commissioner Mark Riley as his assistant, and retired again 1993.  

He married Elfreida Blocker on June 8, 1956.  They celebrated 50 years of marriage in June of 2006.  Two children, David L. and Frana L., made their lives complete.  The addition of three grandchildren added to their full enjoyment of life.  Taylor, Sladen and Hannah were the apples of Poppy’s eye.  He loved them so much.  

David was an avid gardener who took great delight in his garden, especially his tomatoes.  He shared all he grew with family and friends.  David also had a great sense of humor and could entertain all with his stories -- some true, some not.  

He was a good and faithful Christian man who loved his God and cherished his family.  He was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Millsap.  

Survivors include his wife, Elfreida; son, David L.; daughter, Frana Finley and husband, Curtis; brother, W.F. (Short) Hinshaw and wife, Tillie; sister, Dorothy Schindler; grandchildren, Taylor, Sladen and Hannah; many family members and friends, as well as fishing buddies Bob and Sam Shewmake.  

He has joined Christ with his parents; brothers, Jim and Willie (Buck) Hinshaw; and sisters, Ellen Walker and Ozella Sears Barham.

Opal died Apr 14 2011, at her home, Weatherford, Texas; age 73.6,7,9,12,13

WEATHERFORD -- O. Elfreida Hinshaw, 73, of Millsap, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2011.  

Elfreida was born April 3, 1938, in Jack County to Vernon Velma and Tom Wilson Blocker.  

Mrs. Hinshaw was preceded in death by her husband, David Hinshaw.  

Survivors include her children, David L. Hinshaw and Frana L. Finley and husband Curtis; grandchildren, Taylor and Sladen Finley and Hannah E. Tuttle; sisters, Rosa Daves, Joy Smith, Jaylene Guinn, Jaylene Guinn and Rita Ringo; brothers, Wayne Blocker and Gary Blocker; several nephews, nieces, uncles, aunts and cousins.  

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 16, in North Side Baptist Church.  

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Greenwood Community Cemetery.

WEATHERFORD - Elfreida Hinshaw, 73, died April 14, 2011, at her residence in Weatherford.  

Service is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, at North Side Baptist Church.  Officiating will be Dr. Van Houser of North Side Baptist Church.  Interment will follow at Greenwood Community Cemetery.  Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Home.  

She was born April 3, 1938, in Jack County, Texas, the second daughter of Tom and Vernon Blocker.  She attended schools in Midland, Salesville and Mineral Wells, where she graduated in 1956.  She worked for Fort Wolters Army Base, Stephenville ISD and Campbell Hospital, where she retired in 2000.  

She married David A. Hinshaw at the home of Rosa and J.C. Daves, her sister and brother-in-law, on June 8, 1956.  They celebrated 50 years of marriage together in June of 2006.  He preceded her in death on Jan. 6, 2007.  Two children, David L. and Frana L. made their lives complete.  The addition of three grandchildren added to their full enjoyment of life.  Taylor, Sladen and Hannah were the apples of Nonnie’s eye.  She loved them so very much.  

Elfreida’s number one pastime was her three beautiful grandchildren.  She enjoyed playing with them as well as just sitting and listening to their stories.  She also was a writer of poetry.  She had poems written about almost everything she had come into contact with that had meaning to her.  Her poetry was a lifelong pastime of hers and will be cherished by her family for years to come.  

She was a good and faithful Christian who taught Sunday school and loved her God and cherished her family.  She was a past member of Salesville Baptist Church, Beulah Baptist Church and most recently North Side Baptist Church in Weatherford.  

Survivors include a son, David L.; daughter, Frana Finley and husband, Curtis; sisters, Rosa Daves and husband, J.C., Joy Smith and husband, Ben, Jaylene Guinn and Rita Ringo and husband Richard; brothers, Wayne Blocker and wife, Charlsie, and Gary Blocker; grandchildren, Taylor, Sladen and Hannah; and many family members and friends, as well as close friends, Doris and Jerry Reese, mourn her passing.  

She has joined Christ with her husband and parents.
