At Marlborough MM on 5-11-1826, Benjamin was granted a certificate to Holly Spring MM to marry.1  

At Holly Spring MM on 5-20-1826, Benjamin produced a certificate from Marlborough MM, to marry.1  

He married Mary E. Larrence1,7 [Mary E. Larrance, Mary E. Larrence, Mary E. Laurence1, Mary E. Lawrence7], 6-17-18261,7, Bethel MH, Holly Spring MM, North Carolina1,7.  Mary E. Larrence, daughter of Peter Larrance & Abigail Heydock, was born 5-28-1800, North Carolina.1,2,8  

At Holly Spring MM on 8-19-1826, Mary was granted a certificate to Cane Creek MM.1  

At Marlborough MM on 10-12-1826, Benjamin was granted a certificate to Cane Creek MM.1  

At Cane Creek MM on 1-6-1827, Mary was received on a certificate from Holly Spring MM dated 1826,8,19.1  

At Cane Creek MM on 2-3-1827, Benjamin was received on a certificate from Marlborough MM dated 1826,10,12.1  

Benjamin Hinshaw died 5-25-1840, Cane Creek MM, North Carolina.1,2,8  

Widow Mary and family were shown in the 1850 census, Chatham County, North Carolina, as follows:3

Mary Hinshaw, age 49, born in North Carolina; $325 real estate.
Isaac Hinshaw, age 19, born in North Carolina; carpenter; attended school.
Newton Hinshaw, age 16, born in North Carolina; farmer; attended school.
Betsey Hinshaw, age 13, twin, born in North Carolina; attended school.
Iram Hinshaw, age 13, twin, born in North Carolina; attended school.
Nathan Hinshaw, age 11, born in North Carolina; attended school.
The 1850 census showed the family of widow Nancy Hinshaw next door.9  Also living nearby were William Hinshaw,10 Zimri Hinshaw11 and his father William,12

Mary E. Larrence died 3-24-1851, Cane Creek MM, North Carolina.1,8  

At Cane Creek MM on 10-2-1852, Benjamin's family "Elizabeth, Isam & Nathan, children of Mary, deceased" were granted a certificate to Spiceland MM, Indiana.  On the same date, son Newton was also granted a certificate to West Union MM, Indiana.1  

At Spiceland MM (Indiana) on 11-24-1852, Elizabeth, Isom, and Nathan, children of Mary, deceased, were received on a certificate from Cane Creek MM, N.C.8
