Kevin was a 1951 graduate from Richland High School, Richland, Keokuk County, Iowa.⁶  

He married Donna Lois Emonin, May 14 1953, Junction City, Kansas.⁷  Donna, daughter of Emile Joseph Emonin & Winnifred K. Freshwater, was born Jul 3 1934, Fairfield, Jefferson County, Iowa.^1,4,5,8  

Note: Kevin's niece Emily married Donna's brother John Emonin.¹  

As of 1976, Kevin and family were living on his grandfather Dillon's farm, which was purchased in 1886 and has been in the family ever since.⁹  

Donna died Jan 25 2009, Ridgewood Nursing & Rehab Center, Ottumwa, Wapello County, Iowa; age 74.^4,5

Donna Lois Hinshaw, 74, of Richland, died Sunday, Jan. 25, 2009, at Ridgewood Nursing and Rehab Center in Ottumwa following a lengthy illness.   She was born July 3, 1934, to Emile J. and Winnifred K. (Freshwater) Emonin in Fairfield, Iowa.   Donna Grew up southeast of Fairfield. She graduated from Fairfield High School in 1953.  Donna was united in marriage to Kevin Dean Hinshaw on May 14, 1953, in Junction City, Kan.  She and her husband farmed the Hinshaw Century Farm for 56 years, enjoying gardening, visiting friends and church activities.  Donna was an active longtime member of the Trinity Friends Church in Richland.   She is survived by her husband, Kevin; one son, Dennis of Richland; two daughters, Dixie (Nick) Richardson of Ottumwa and Jeannie (Jeff) Pedrick of Richland; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, John (Emily) Emonin of Marion; and special friend, Linda Hinshaw.   Her parents and one brother, Richard Emonin preceded her in death.   Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009, at Gould Funeral Home in Richland with Rev. Harlan Van Voorst officiating.

Kevin Dean Hinshaw died Aug 31 2010, Mercy Hospital, Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa; buried Richland Friends Cemetery, Richland, Keokuk County, Iowa.^4,5,10  

Kevin's obituary was published in the "Mount Pleasant News" (Mount Pleasant, Iowa) on September 3, 2010.¹¹
