Born Mar 10 1924, Sheridan, Yamhill County, Oregon.3,4,5  

On Mar 17 1943 Joseph F. Hinshaw, born 1924 in Oregon, enlisted at Portland, Oregon as a private in the U.S. Army.  He declared he had a grammar school education, and was single, without dependents.6  

He married Donna Jean Keyton, 1955, Stevenson, Skamania County, Washington.3  Donna was born Oct 8 1933.7  

Donna died Aug 27 1990, Wasco County, Oregon; age 56.7  Death certificate #90-16605.7

Joseph Frack Hinshaw Sr.  

Joseph Frack Hinshaw Sr., 82, a resident of McMinnville, died Thursday, Nov. 23, at a care facility in The Dalles.  

He was born March 10, 1924, the fifth of seven children to Joseph Clay Hinshaw and Cora Mae Frack in Sheridan.  

He grew up in Sheridan, and joined the Army in 1943, serving during World War II and receiving his honorable discharge in 1945.  He returned to Sheridan, and married Donna Keyton in 1955, in Stevenson, Wash.  He moved to The Dalles in 1958 and worked at the aluminum plant, retiring as a carbon plant supervisor.  He then moved to McMinnville in 1997.  

He was a past member of the Eagles Lodge in The Dalles, and he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to the beach and casinos, and traveling.  

He is survived by his significant other, Bea Carlson; his sons, Richard Newsom of Prineville, Joseph Hinshaw Jr. and wife Tina of The Dalles; daughters, Teri Knowles and husband Rick of The Dalles, Dell Oaks and husband Tom of The Dalles, Debbie Moore of Battleground, Wash., and Kathy Crause of Madras; 12 grandchildren, Troy, Tyson, Kimberley, Jodi, Angela, Ricky Jr., Scotty, Sabrina, Stephanie, Shilo, Zachary and Hannah; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna; his parents; brothers Ernest Clay Hinshaw, Lester Ray Hinshaw, Willard Zenas Hinshaw, Earl Frack Dickey; sisters Wilma Lorraine Hinshaw, Mayrie Hinshaw; and grandson Michael Hatch.  

Viewing visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 30, from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday, Dec. 1, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., followed by funeral services on Saturday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. at Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at IOOF Parklawn Threemile Cemetery.  Arrangements are in care of Spencer, Libby, and Powell Funeral Home.  

Memorials may be made to the Oregon Veterans Home, 700 Veterans Drive, The Dalles, OR 97058 or Hospice of The Gorge, 751 Myrtle St., The Dalles, OR 97058.
