Phil Hinshaw, born November 24, 1955, departed this life Wednesday, January 16, 2013. Phil died as he lived -- in the company of his beloved wife, daughters, son and friends. Phil was a concrete finisher and a master at his trade. He worked for his father at H & H concrete, learning deep honesty and an old fashioned work ethic. He carried this throughout his life. If you wanted the job done 100%, Phil was the concrete man for you.
Phil was a lifelong outdoor enthusiast. He enjoyed hunting trips, fishing, camping, and simply watching wildlife in his backyard, always with family and friends.
Another part of Phil Hinshaw was his four legged friends, the last being his "blonde sweetheart" Chance, his yellow Lab who was always by his side.
Phil was a true friend to many. To be his friend was an honor and a riot. To remember Phil is to remember country music, hard work, beer, laughter and loyalty.
Phil is survived by his wife LaDonna Hinshaw, and his three children, Michelle Nelson of Arizona, Mindy Amaya of Columbia and Bobby Hinshaw of Moberly; one brother, Keith Hinshaw of Moberly; one sister, Sharon Brock of Springfield; six grandchildren, Kennedi Harrison, Tyra Saunders, Alec Amaya, Nikia Robinson, Ayden Bond, Ajay Roberts; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Hinshaw, mother Erma Hinshaw, brother Kenneth Hinshaw, daughter Brandy Hinshaw and lifelong friend, Chris Dollich.
A celebration of Phil's life will be held Sunday January 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly with interment following at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the family to help with medical bills and other expenses.
A dinner will be served at Middle Grove School following the service.
Pathway Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
