Thomas and Miriam had four children (Rachel, Elizabeth, Mary and Eliza) when they left North Carolina for Snow Hill Station, Randolph County, Indiana in 1829. They had seven more children in Indiana.^a

Thomas Carter died 1838, believed buried Mount Zion Cemetery, near Winchester, Randolph County, Indiana.^c
