Born Mar 12 1897, Ramseur, Randolph County, North Carolina.1,2,3,4,9,13,14,15,16,17,18  (The Holly Spring MM abstracts show Carl born 12 Mo 25, 1896, apparently in error).19  

On Jun 5 1918 Carl Cyrus Hinshaw, age 21, registered for the World War I draft in Randolph County, North Carolina.  He declared he was born March 12 1897 in Ramseur, North Carolina, and he was then still residing at Ramseur #1, North Carolina where he was self-employed.  He declared his nearest relative was Lewis Hinshaw of Ramseur.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, blue eyes, light hair.15  

He married Fleta May Allen2,4 [Fleta Mae Allen20].  Fleta, daughter of Walter Jay Allen & Nancy Florence Hodgin, was born Mar 11 1897, North Carolina.1,2,4,18,20  

Carl and family were shown in the 1920 census (Feb 18-19 1920), Coleridge Township, Randolph County, North Carolina:1

Hinshaw, Fleta M., wife, age 22, born in North Carolina; parents born in North Carolina.

Hinshaw, Mildred M, daughter, age 4 months, born in North Carolina; parents born in North Carolina.
Living in the same dwelling with Carl and family in 1920 (and from whom Carl was renting his home) were Carl's grandparents;21 living next door in 1920 were Carl's parents and siblings.22  

Fleta died Dec 15 1929, buried Holly Spring Friends Cemetery, Ramseur, Randolph County, North Carolina.4,18

He then married Hazel Jeanette Stout, Mar 9 1932.2,8,24  Hazel, daughter of Charles Arthur Stout & Mary Ellen Cox, was born Aug 25 1907, North Carolina.2,9,18,24

For more than fifty years (at least until 1982) Carl lived in the house build by his grandfather, Thomas Hinshaw.25  

In 1965 in North Carolina, Carl first obtained his Social Security number.2,13  

Hazel died Apr 27 1968, Randolph County, North Carolina; age 61.18,26  

In 1985 Carl was living in Ramseur, Randolph County, North Carolina.2  

Carl Cyrus Hinshaw died Nov 30 1985, Asheboro, Randolph County, North Carolina; age 88.2,13,14,18,27
