He married Rhoda Rogers8 [Roda Rogers9], Oct 15 19108, Clay County, West Virginia8.  Rhoda, daughter of William Harrison Rogers & Mary Boggs, was born Feb 10 1891, West Virginia.3,5,8,14  

Note that Rhoda was the sister of Susan Vera Rogers who married Van's brother Grover.  

On Jun 5 1917 Van Jetes Hanshaw, age 27, registered for the World War I draft in Roane County, West Virginia.  He declared he was born April 18 1890 in Wallback, West Virginia, and was then residing in Left Hand, West Virginia where he was a self-employed farmer with a wife and four children.  No prior military service.  He was recorded as medium height, medium build, blue eyes, black hair.6

In 1965 Van was living in Bomont, West Virginia.16  

Rhoda died 1969, buried Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Wallback, Clay County, West Virginia.8,14,17  

Van Jetes Hanshaw died Oct 25 1978, buried Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Wallback, Clay County, West Virginia.12,13,14,17
