SILER CITY- George Clifford Hinshaw, 80, of 6700 Silk Hope-Liberty Road, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 at Wesley Long Community Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday at Rocky River Friends Meeting, 1795 Staley-Snow Camp Road in Siler City and conducted by David Hobson. Burial will be in Rocky River Friends Cemetery in Siler City.
Mr. Hinshaw was a native of Chatham County, a retired truck driver for Carolina Steele and a member of Rocky River Friends Meeting where he was in the Fellowship Sunday school class, served on the cemetery committee, ministry and council, served as a trustee and youth leader.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nannie Mae Keller Hinshaw of the home; son Clifford Hinshaw of Siler City; daughter Helen Hinshaw Pike of Staley; sister Bunk Hinshaw of Siler City; brother Zim Hinshaw of Asheboro; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday at Smith & buckner Funeral Home, 230 North Second Avenue in Siler City.
