On Jun 5 1917 Wm. Ross Henshaw (signed "William Ross Hinshaw"), age 25, registered for the World War I draft in Danville, Pittsylvania County, Virginia. He declared he was born Dec 30 1892 in Alamance County, North Carolina, and was then residing at 515 Cliff St., Danville, Virginia where he was single, without dependents, and a railroad fireman employed by Southern Railway Co. of Danville. He was recorded as tall, brown eyes, black hair.1
He married Carrie Lee Yeatts4,5 [Carrie Lea Yeatts6]. Carrie, daughter of Epp S. + Addie Yeatts7, was born about 19017, Virginia7 [North Carolina4].
William and Carrie were shown in the 1920 census (Jan 21 1920), living with Carrie's widowed mother and family at 321 Bryant Ave., Danville, Virginia:4
Carrie died Jul 2 1926, at her home, 422 Cliff Street, Danville, Virginia; buried New Design Cemetery.5

Be Buried Today
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock for Mrs. Carrie Lee Henshaw, who died yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at her home, 422 Cliff street, following an illness of a month.
Mrs. Henshaw's death is particularly tragic because of the death about a month ago of her sister, Miss Mary Yeatts. Deceased is survived by her mother, three brothers and one sister, Miss Sophie Yeatts, also her husband, Ross Henshaw. Mrs. Henshaw had been a resident of Danville her entire life and was generally beloved by her friends.
The services this afternoon will be conducted by Rev. O.J.D. Parker and interment will be made in the New Design cemetery.
