Millie's obituary was published in the "Union City Times-Gazette" on Friday, June 21, 1940:3
Death claims Nettie A. Best. - Mother-in-law of Judge John W. Macy to be buried Saturday.
Mrs. Nettie Alice Best, 71, mother-in-law of Judge John W. Macy, died Wednesday night at 10 o'clock at the Randolph County hospital, where she has been a patient for several weeks.
Mrs. Best made her home east of Lynn, having moved there a few years ago from the vicinity of Winchester.
She was the daughter of Rev. Simpson Hinshaw, pioneer Quaker preacher of the White River community.
Survivors include the husband, John D. Best, of Lynn, three daughters, Mrs. John Macy of Winchester, Mrs. Earl Heston of Ridgeville and Mrs. Fred Davis of Gaston; two sons, Glen Ward of Peoria, Ill., and Fred Ward of Muncie; two brothers Dr. Earl Hinshaw and Bert Hinshaw, both of Richmond, and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Albright of Richmond and Mrs. Porter Chenoweth of Lynn.
The body was removed to the Clark and Maynard funeral home, where it will remain until after the funeral service, which will be conducted Saturday at 2 p. m., with Rev. G. M. Payne officiating. Interment will be in the Fountain Park cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time.
