AGNES A. COUGHLIN
Agnes A. Coughlin died April 4 at Skyline Hospital in White Salmon at the age of 86.
Mrs. Coughlin was born April 25, 1897, in Goldendale, to Mr. and Mrs. Tunis Henshaw. She attended school in Goldendale until 1911, when her family moved to White Salmon where she finished her schooling. She married Daniel T. Coughlin February 23, 1924, and they made their home in St. Helens until his death in 1952. She returned to White Salmon in 1954.
She taught in several Klickitat County schools, including the White Salmon, served as county clerk and owned a dress shop. She was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Tacoma, the Order of Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary and the United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Colleen Adams, Steilacoom, Washington; two sons, Joseph Coughlin, Longview, and Daniel P. Coughlin, St. Helens, Ore.; a twin sister, Mrs. Frank Withy, White Salmon; a sister, Mrs. E.R. Hodson, Portland; a grandson, Michael McCaslin, White Salmon; 12 other grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Coughlin were Monday at 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Home in White Salmon. Interment was in Bethany Cemetery, Warren, Ore.
