Hinshaw, Lesley, head-of-household, age 25, born in Indiana; completed 4 years of high school; on Apr 1 1935 was living in the same house; rented farm ($10/month rent); occupation: farmer, farm.
Hinshaw, Doris, wife, age 20, born in Ohio; completed 4 years of high school; on Apr 1 1935 was living in rural Darke County, Ohio.

In 1984 Leslie was living in/near Fountain City, Wayne County, Indiana.9  

Leslie Oren Hinshaw died Apr 12 1984, Reid Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana; age 69.5,6,9  

Leslie's obituary was published in "The Palladium-Item" (Richmond, Indiana) on April 13 1984:6

Fountain City - Leslie O. Hinshaw, 69 was pronounced dead on arrival 12 Apr 1984 at Reid Memorial Hospital, Richmond.  He had been in ill health several years.  He was a native of Randolph Co., and had lived in Fountain City since 1949.  He and his wife of 45 years, Doris, owned and operated Hinshaw's Grocery from 1949 to 1961.  After that he was a car salesman for Roper Chrysler-Plymouth, Richmond, Fraze Chrysler-Plymouth in Greenville, OH, and later with Bownen's Oldsmobile in Richmond.  A birthright Quaker, he was a member of Rural Friends Church.  He was a former member and past president of the Fountain City Lions Club and was a former member of the Fountain City Fire Department.  He had been active with the Fountain City Boy Scouts.  

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one son, Kent of Dayton, OH; two grandchilodren; four brothers, Robert of Torremolinos (Malaga) Spain, Lawrence and Marshall, both of Tampa, FL, and Herman of New Madison, OH; two sisters, Helen Ebersole of Eldorado, OH, and Mary Ellen Johnson of Troy, OH.  

The pastor of the First Baptist Church of Richmond officiated, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery at Fort Jefferson, OH.

Doris died Jan 24 2010, Reid Memorial Hospital, Richmond, Wayne County, Indiana; age 90.6  

Doris' obituary was published as follows:6

Doris Hinshaw, 90, of Fountain City, passed away on Sunday, January 24, at Reid Hospital.  

She was born July 15, 1919 in New Madison, Ohio to Virgil and Fay Cole Dubbs.  She was a graduate of New Madison High School.  She was united in marriage to Leslie Hinshaw on March 11, 1939.  They shared 45 years together before his death on March 12, 1984.  From 1949-62, they owned and operated Hinshaw's Grocery together on Main Street.  From 1962-67, Mrs. Hinshaw operated Duning's Luggage in Richmond and later worked several years at J.C. Penney.  She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Richmond.  She enjoyed reading and doing craft projects.  

Mrs. Hinshaw will be missed by her son and daughter-in-law Kent and Mary Jo Hinshaw, of Dayton, Ohio; granddaughter, Faye Newsom and her husband, Nathaniel; grandson, Daniel Hinshaw and his wife, Jonnie; sister, Virginia Burns, of New Paris, Ohio; 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  

Mrs. Hinshaw was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Pauline Drew and Eileen Roberts, and brother, Wilson Dubbs.  

A funeral ceremony will be conducted by Pastor James Spon at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 29 at the Smith & McQuiston Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fort Jefferson, Ohio.  

Family and friends may gather for visitation from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, January 29, at the funeral home.  

Memorial contributions may be sent to the First Baptist Church of Richmond, 1601 South A Street, Richmond, Indiana 47374.
