On Sep 2 1942 Charles F. Hinshaw, born 1919 in Tennessee, a resident of Hawkins County, Tennessee, enlisted at Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia as a Private in the U.S. Army.  He declared he had four years of high school, and was single, without dependents.  He was recorded as 67" tall, 132 lbs.5  

He married Mary Edith Newberry, Jan 6 1947.1,7,8  Mary, daughter of Rev. William "Bud" Newberry & Lena McClellan, was born Mar 26 1927.1,6,7,8,9,10  

Charlie was an engineer with the State of Tennessee Highway Department.11  In 1977-2011 he was living near Rogersville, Tennessee.11,12  

Mary died Oct 5 2010, at her home, Rogersville, Hawkins County, Tennessee; age 83.6,7,8

Mary Edith Newberry Hinshaw, age 83 of Rogersville, passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2010, at her residence following an extended illness.  She was a member of Persia Baptist Church and was active in her community.  Mary loved gardening, researching her family genealogy and spending time with her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. William "Bud" and Lena McClellan Newberry; sister, Nina Turner and brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Georgia Rose Newberry.  Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years, Charles "Charlie" F. Hinshaw of the home, two daughters, Janice Morgan of Rogersville and Cynthia Smith and husband, Don of Rockford, MI; one son, Nathan Hinshaw of Rogersville; five grandchildren, Eric Hughes and wife, Jessi, Andrew Morgan and wife, Brandy, Lora Beth Sare and husband, Mathew, Alex Morgan and wife, Stephanie and Devon Smith; eight great grandchildren, Ava, Ema and Madison Morgan, Brayden, Anna and Ezra Manley, Jalyn Egbert and Lucy Hughes; brother, C. B. Newberry of Rogersville; sister-in-law, Marie Newberry.  Our appreciation to the care givers, Sherry, April, Sally, Linda, Margaret, Mavis and Fern.  A number of nieces and nephews.  Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Broome Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 306 Kite Rd., Rogersville.  Funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2010 in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Charles "Charlie" F. Hinshaw, 92, of Rogersville, died on Monday morning at his residence.  Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Broome Funeral Home, Rogersville.  Funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.  Military graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Dodson Creek Cemetery.
