Janice Lee Staley passed away unexpectedly on the Friday, July 29th. She touched many lives with her kind demeanor. Janice was born in Ingomar, a little suburb of Pittsburg, PA. She spent most of her youth there until the early 1960's when her family moved to Newark, CA. Janice graduated from Washington High School. In 1963, Janice married Ronald Staley. Janice and Ronald had a son in 1965 named Gary. Janice will always be remembered for her love of all animals especially German Shepherds. She owned Sherzar Shepherds one of the nation's top kennels, where she bred show quality German Shepherds. In addition, Janice served as a respected judge in local and national German Shepherd dog shows. Janice is survived by her loving husband, Ron of Pleasanton; devoted son, Gary of Castro Valley; grandchildren, Taylor of Draper, UT, and Adam and Olivia of Castro Valley. Her loving spirit and passion will greatly be missed by those who knew her. Friends and family are invited to a viewing on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 5:00 pm-9:00 pm, and the funeral service being held on Friday, August 12, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. at Chapel of the Chimes, 32992 Mission Blvd., in Hayward, where Janice will be entombed afterwards.
