Write-up by Peter

Russ bailed out, so Esteban was the dreaded "third wheel" on this hike. We picked up lunch at a local market in Pacifica (next to Aunt Hatty's Weiner House). Free cookies!

The original goal was to start at the valley bottom, go up to the top, look at the ocean, and come back. When we got to the top, we decided that we had not hiked enough, so we went about halfway down a fire road on the other side before stopping for lunch. Unfortunately, there was no shade and no nice place to sit and relax for a while, so we just sat in the dirt on the side of the road and shared lunch with the ants.

On the plus side, there was a nice breeze coming off the ocean, and the view was gorgeous. The hike back up to the top was not trivial, but then it was smooth sailing back to the start.

The big post-hike news was that Taylor discovered a new Ross store in Pacifica on the way home. Oooooooooo!
