Russ owes a writeup! -- Pictures by Brian B
From Steve:
A funny thing happened on the way to Big Basin. Somewhere along 236, the carpool encountered two people standing in the middle of the street. They suggested we turn around, as there was an impassible accident just up ahead. However, we had seen a car go that way. . .and not come back. So we decided to test our luck.
Turned out to be a flaming motorcycle in the middle of the road. We had no trouble clearing it, but I was going crazy trying to get someone to take a picture. My window was down, and I could feel the heat from the bike as we drove by (the driver was OK--we never figured out how one crashes a bike in the middle of the road). Less punctual INCHers ended up on the wrong side of the subsequent fire engines, and showed up late. While standing around after the hike, we discovered that Brian B had also gone by the motorcycle, and was able to snap a few pictures with his iPhone.
