DR. ARVIL JAMES HINSHAW, 83, of Beaumont died October 24, 1999 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.    Funeral services will be on Wednesday, October 27, 1999 at 10:00 AM in Trinity United Methodist Church followed by burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary, Beaumont.    Visitation will be on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until 5:00 PM at the Mortuary and from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the McKnight Parlor at Trinity United Methodist Church.    A native of Iowa, he lived in Beaumont most of his life.    He was a retired General Thoracic Surgeon and a United States World War II Navy Veteran.    Survivors include his wife Thelma Hinshaw of Beaumont; sons, Rex Arvil Hinshaw of Houston and Dr. James Chadwick Hinshaw of Great Falls, Montana; daughters, Susan Anne Hinshaw Doss of Bryan and Pamela Jane Hinshaw Pugel of Mercer Island, Washington; and eight grandchildren.

Thelma died Feb 8 2005, buried Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Orange County, Texas.f

Thelma Rushforth Hinshaw

BEAUMONT -- Thelma Rushforth Hinshaw of Beaumont, Texas passed away peacefully in the loving care of her children on Tuesday, February 8, 2005.

Mrs. Hinshaw was born August 15, 1922, in Methuen, Massachusetts at the family home to Charles and Lena Rushforth.    She became a resident of Beaumont for over fifty years with her husband following a nursing career at Mass General Hospital in Boston.    She was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church and the Friendship Class.    She will be missed by all those who she loved so dearly, and remembered especially for her deep love of music and passion for life and her family.

Her husband, Dr. Arvil James Hinshaw and her son, Robert Chase Hinshaw preceded her in death.

Survivors include her four children, Rex A. Hinshaw and wife Becky of Houston, Dr. James C. Hinshaw and wife Debbie of Billings, Montana, Susan H. Doss and husband Dr. David R. Doss of Bryan, Texas and Pamela H. Pugel and husband Chris of Mercer Island, Washington; her sister, Shirley Kruschwitz of Windermere, Florida; her brothers, Calvin Rushforth of Sarasota, Florida and Bill Rushforth of Rancho Palos Verde, California; eight grandchildren, Amy Doss, Matthew Doss and Sallie Doss all of Bryan, Texas, Ashley Hinshaw and Tyler Hinshaw both of Billings, Montana, Phillip Pugel, Calvin Pugel and Samuel Pugel all of Mercer Island, Washington; and many nieces, nephews and family.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2005, in the Dishman Chapel at Trinity United Methodist Church under the direction of Broussard's, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont with burial to follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.    A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2005, at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 3430 Harrison Avenue, Beaumont, Texas 77702 or to Alzheimer?s Association, 2909 W. Holcombe Road, Houston, Texas 77025.
