She married Joseph Haddock, 1747, Grange MM, Northern Ireland.1,2,3
Margaret Hinshaw of Grange, and Joseph Haddock of Stangmore, Parish of Clonfeakell, were married 5 Mo. (July) 1747 at Grange Meeting. Jesse, William and Abigail signed as witnesses.1
Margaret Hinshaw signed the marriage certificate for William Hinshaw and Mary Courtney on 2 Mo. 1, 1742.4
NOTE: Margaret has been shown in some published genealogies as a daughter of John Hinshaw #35 by his second wife, Elizabeth Belshaw.2
However, in a letter dated 20 January 1769 William Hinshaw #34 said "let Jacob Haddock and Joseph Haddock know their two brothers and families is well, to wit Jacob Henshaw and William".
William's use of the word "brother" was not always exact, often using "brother" to mean "brother-in-law" or even simply "friend", so there is some uncertainty. But this wording in William's letter seems to indicate that Margaret Hinshaw, as well as Mary Hinshaw #917, were sisters of Jacob Hinshaw and William Hinshaw, thus Margaret and Mary are thought to have been daughters of Thomas Hinshaw & Mary Marshall.5
