Harvey was raised near Climax, North Carolina.2 He worked for International Harvester when young and travelled out west. He helped build several roads in Climax, N.C. and put in a telephone system there.2
He married Belva Thelma Hammond, May 3 1922.2,10 Belva, daughter of Joseph Hammond & Emma Lowdermilk, was born Feb 27 1901.2,10,11 Belva was raised near Ulah, North Carolina.2
James Harvey Hinshaw died Dec 12 1950.2
In 1974 Belva was living in Greensboro, Guilford County, North Carolina.11
