Leah Nicole Hinshaw and Dr. Nicholas Dane Adams, both of Yadkinville, were married at 5 p.m. November 6 at Union Cross Friends Meeting in Yadkinville. The Rev. Archie Creed, Dr. Harold Salmons and Dr. Jerry Gibbons officiated.
The bride is the daughter of the late LuAnn Spillman Hinshaw and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Odell Thomas Spillman of Yadkinville. She received a bachelor's degree in vocal performance from the UNC School of the Arts in Winston Salem. She is currently pursuing her master's and doctorate in musicology at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Daniel Adams of Yadkinville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. J.F. Mathis, Jr. of Jonesville and the late C.H. and Doris Adams of East Bend. He received a bachelor's of art degree in chemistry and a bachelor's of science degree in math from High Point University. He received his doctorate degree from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and is currently in residency at Mercy Hospital in Philadelphia.
The bride was escorted by her grandfather. The matrons of honor were Marilyn Taylor of Winston-Salem and Heather Adams of Yadkinville. The bridesmaids were the cousin of the groom, Tracy Clevenger of Yadkinville; Tanya Banner and Connie Miller, both of Winston-Salem; and Heather Corn of Washington, D.C. The junior bridesmaid was Ebony Epley of Yadkinville. The flower girls were the groom's cousin, Miss Elizabeth Kennon Sim of Hoschton, Ga., and Miss Salem Adrianna Parker of Yadkinville.
The bride wore an elegant formal gown of ivory taffeta designed by Jasmine. The strapless neckline and low waistline were encrusted with delicate silver bugle beads. The fitted bodice featured a romantic lace-up back. A full skirt swept into a semi-chapel length train with caught designs over the entire skirt. She wore a chapel-length ivory veil of illusion trimmed with silver hand beading. She carried a bouquet of white gardenias, ivory vendela roses, cream colored Holland tulips and delicate lisianthus accented with touches of silver foliage. Intertwined in the bouquet was her mother's silver locket necklace.
The bridesmaids wore black gowns of Tiffany chiffon designed by Belsoise. They wore matching black strapped high heels and necklaces and earrings given to them by the bride. Matrons of honor carried bouquets of crimson roses, red miniature gerbera daisies, accented with scarlet miniature roses and seasonal foliages. The bridesmaids carried hand tied clutches of crimson roses accented with seasonal foliages and the junior bridesmaid carried bouquets of crimson roses accented with miniature scarlet roses and seasonal foliages. The flower girls wore ivory satin dresses with an organza overlay. Both wore a custom made crystal beaded bracelet given to them by the bride.
The best man was the groom's father. Groomsmen were the groom's cousins, Michael Adams of Yadkinville and Michael Galloway of Winston-Salem; Chris Bolin and Michael Williams, both of Yadkinville; and Kevin Scola of Collingswood, N.J. The junior groomsman was the groom's cousin, Jacob Daye of Salisbury. The ring bearer was the groom's cousin, Master Alexander Lee Clevenger of Yadkinville.
The usher was the bride's uncle, Larry Ashby. Acolytes were the groom's cousins, Jacob Daye and Patrick Daye both of Salisbury. The bride's godmother, Marlene Wood, was the special reader on behalf of the bride's late mother, LuAnn Spillman.
Guest register attendants were Linda Ashby and Lori Phillips. Program attendants were Brittany Suth and Julie Galloway. Greeters were David and Amy Adams and Jerry and Priscilla Eller.
Wedding directors were Lisa Groce and Gina Hayes. Wedding assistant was Carrie Hayes. Musicians were Dr. Karen Beres, pianist; Charlene Zachary, organist; and Marilyn Taylor and Jamie Allbritten, soloists. Photography was provided by Bert Reed. Videography was provided by Nathaniel Todd and John Anton.
Flowers were designed by Reggie's Flower Shoppe. Catering and groom's cake was provided by D&F Catering in East Bend. The couple's wedding transportation was a navy blue Silver Spur Rolls Royce provided by Pat Cundari's Faux Motor Co.
Bridal showers were given by Peggy Robins, Robin Daye, and Julie Galloway at Union Cross Friends fellowship hall; Deep Creek Men and Women at Deep Creek Baptist Church; and Amy Adams and Gina Hayes at Union Cross Friends fellowship hall. A lingerie shower was given by Heather Adams and Tracy Clevenger at the home of Heather Adams, and a bridal luncheon, hosted by the groom's mother, was held at the Victoria House.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom's parents, was held at the River Birch Lodge in Winston-Salem. A dinner reception was held in the Tanglewood ballroom in Clemmons. Music was provided by William Shumate.
After a honeymoon to Paris, France, Dr. and Mrs. Adams will reside in Blue Bell, Pa.
