Mrs. Netha Hanshaw, 50, of 620 Shamblins Court was found dead this morning at her home.  Police said death apparently resulted from natural causes.  

Survivors include her husband, H. Chester; four sons, Leroy and Raymond at home, Gene of Elkview and Robert of Charleston; five daughters, Edith Ann at home, Mrs. Mary Slater and Mrs. Arbutice Hill of Charleston, Miss Leona May Hanshaw of Clendenin and Miss Alice Hanshaw of Elkview; five brothers, Richard Barnett, Joney, Lamon and Calvin of Charleston and Manuel of Blue Creek; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Burke, Mrs. Letha Casdorph and Mrs. Georgia Castle of Charleston and Mrs. Martha Smith of Sissonville Road; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Barnett of Blue Creek; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.  

The body is at the Cunningham Funeral Home.

In 1975 Herman was still living in/near Charleston, West Virginia.17  

Herman Chester Hanshaw died Jul 5 1975, Thomas Memorial Hospital, Charleston, Kanawha County, West Virginia; buried Good Cemetery, White Pine Road, Kentuck, Jackson County, West Virginia.17,18  

Herman's obituary was published in the "Charleston Daily Mail" (Charleston, West Virginia) on Monday, July 7, 1975:18

Herman C. Hanshaw, 74, of 4572 Big Tyler Road, died Saturday in Thomas Memorial Hospital.  

He was a retired miner.  

Surviving: sons, Lewis of Baton Rouge, La., Charles of Jacksonville, Fla., Robert of Wisconsin, Raymond of Charleston; daughters, Mrs. Mary Slater of South Charleston, Mrs. Arbutus Martin of Big Tyler, Mrs. Lenona Parson of Baton Rouge, La., Mrs. Alice Good of Ripley, Mrs. Edith Thaxton of Charleston; brothers, Ernest, Lamont, Donas and Alfred of Eleanor, Woodrow, Audrey and Carmel of Charleston.  

Friends may call today after noon at Cunningham Funeral Home.  The body will be taken to the resident Tuesday at 12 noon.
