He married Nancy Ann Thompson Hackney, Sep 30 1840, Blount County, Tennessee.^7,9,10 Nancy, daughter of Thomas Hackney & Elizabeth Jones, was born May 29 1819, Blount County, Tennessee.^1,3 Nancy was named after her grandmother, Nancy Ann Thompson (m Francis Jones).¹

Note that Ezra's brother Evan also married a Nancy Hackney, a double first cousin to Ezra's Nancy.

At Newberry MM on 10-2-1841, Ezra condemned his marriage "contrary to discipline".⁵

After Ezra died, Nancy remarried on Oct 18 1845, in Blount County TN, to John B. Dunlap.^1,3,7,9 She had five additional children with John Dunlap.¹

Nancy and family were shown in the 1850 census (Oct 3 1850), Blount County, Tennessee:⁴

Nancy and family were again shown in the 1860 census (Jun 11 1860), Knox County, Tennessee:¹²

Nancy died Mar 15 1907, Friendsville, Blount County, Tennessee; buried Friends Cemetery, Friendsville, Tennessee.¹
